The history of the Californian house began long ago when it was originally built by the Dominguez family in the mid-1850s. The property sits on a knoll for about 6 six acres facing the Pacific and is gently shadowed by the Santa Ynez Mountains. The surrounding area emerged from polo fields where celebrities such as Clark Gable frolicked to become the exclusive gated community of Ennisbrook.

Rancho San Leandro adds in the original adobe home along with the Monterey House which is a grand home built in the early 2000s, reflecting the grace of both their past and the present. The main driveway is flanked by the 50 old olive trees and leading to the large stone-covered motor court and an entrance fountain. The estate comprises two houses, with a four-stable stall and a tack room that views a dressage avenue and paddocks.

The property with the outlooks of a fortress has a beautiful guest house, an enormous garage, an infinity pool, a leisure area comprising of a pool house, a barn designed by Tom Kundig, principal and owner of Olson Kundig Architects, and a 9,000 square-foot magnanimous mansion in the South African Cape Dutch architectural style.
