With great flow and awe-inspiring open volumes, visitors are engaged as they explore the dynamically-planned property, uncovering its quietly sophisticated contemporary details. In a marriage of authentic textures and forms, the home boasts a soothing low-contrast combination of white Danish brick, tactile plaster and wood-panelled walls throughout each space. Subtly nostalgic in its emotive materiality yet modern in its thoughtful programming, Shaftesbury 46 truly is a journey of discovery defined by its uplifting sense of arrival and through the soft juxtaposition of grounding materials.

With ceilings of up to 20 feet and expansive floor-to-ceiling walls of windows, the home continually connects its inhabitants to the outside environment, most notably the home’s curated backyard creating a yearlong indoor/outdoor experience.

The main floor is dedicated to collective living and socializing; it features a bright open living room with a roaring marble fireplace and seamless cabinetry. Up above, in a calming rhythm, exposed architectural beams add warmth and comforting intimacy. A social kitchen with top of the line integrated appliances, a marble island, and a grand double-height dining room set the tone for the feasts ahead.

The second floor is reached through the open staircase, which features an expressive railing composed of oversized steel sheets that dramatically overlap. It hosts two comfortable guest bedrooms with a spectacular view of the zen backyard below and its vibrant Japanese maple tree.

The third floor is devoted entirely to the Principal’s living quarters. The elegant walk-in dressing room displays caned cabinetry; it leads to the lush master bedroom and light-filled bathroom. Infused with quiet luxury, this haven of self-care boasts heated marble floors, a deep standalone tub, a walk-in rain shower, and a softly lit make-up vanity.

Accessible through the stairwell or the elevator reaching all floors, the lowest level is home to a show-stopping cellar featuring custom display wine cabinets, a stone island as well as a pantry and wet bar for a most memorable hospitality experience. This floor also hosts an additional third guest room and a laundry room. Located at the border of most treasured Rosedale and Summerhill, Shaftesbury 46 by Ancerl Studio brings forth restrained luxury in a relevant statement of modernity.
