“The start of every project is always exciting, filled with new and creative ideas,” say Aizhana Kunayeva and Aidana Koshumbayeva from Akka Interiors Studio. Their recent project was for a lively, travel-loving young woman. Her energetic lifestyle and strong connection to her cultural roots greatly influenced the home’s design. She shared her family’s way of life and their love for their homeland, which really set the scene for starting this project.

The designers aimed to create a home that felt comfortable and welcoming, without too much decoration. It was important to make special, personal areas for her children while keeping a consistent look throughout the home.

They started by combining two apartments into one large, bright space. With windows all around, the apartment is full of sunlight, making it warm and inviting. The design is flexible to fit the family’s changing needs, using smart and practical features to make the home both comfortable and functional.

The heart of the home is the kitchen and living room. The client wanted these areas to be separate but connected. The kitchen doesn’t have a regular dining table, but a bar counter for socializing. The living room is cozy and perfect for relaxing and chatting. It has a big corner sofa and soft chairs, and large windows that show off the beautiful mountains of Almaty. There’s also an elegant bio fireplace and glass cabinets. The TV is hidden behind sliding panels, keeping the room looking neat.

The main bedroom is a peaceful place with big windows that let in lots of light and show off lovely views. It has a big dressing room and a private bathroom. There’s also a quiet corner for working.

Each teenager’s room reflects their own style. The boy’s room has a structured, masculine look, while the girls’ rooms are softer and more feminine. Each bedroom has its own dressing room. The house also has four bathrooms and a laundry room with a utility area.

Aizhana Kunayeva and Aidana Koshumbayeva see this project as creating a peaceful and harmonious home. They were inspired by nature to blend the inside of the home with the outdoor surroundings.
