EXTERIOR:
The project consists of 4BHK and is located in one of the posh housing schemes of Billimora town in Gujarat. The client himself is a renowned doctor of the city & came up with a brief of having modest yet modern interior spaces. The exterior of the house was meant to be similar as per society’s & developer’s guideline to maintain the contextual integrity of the society. With a limited freedom of changing only interior spaces, the architect & his team came up with an idea of playing with materials, texture & colours only to fulfil the client’s brief.

Living room
The main door of the house has been designed with veneer as base material with brass strip inlay. The living room has been designed with a theme of having white & light grey as base colour filled with contrast coloured furniture & veneer. The matt finished light grey tile run throughout the ground floor. The ceiling above the sitting area has been highlighted with light grey colour & simple groove design which also runs behind through the t.v. unit. The rest of the ceiling has been intentionally kept minimal to welcome more natural light & to make the space look bigger.

- Dining & pooja
The wooden ceiling above the dining area highlights and makes it clear as the most important space of the residence. It is directly connected to the pooja room next to it which has been designed in foldable wooden door with fluted glass in it. The brass strip partition acts as the separating element between foyer & dining and also as the decorative element of the overall floor plate.
- Kitchen
The kitchen has been designed with grey coloured dedo-tile & glossy laminates for the cabinets. The white counter top makes a strong presence in terms of aesthetic element of the space. The back painted glass with profile shutters & profile handles in drawers makes the design minimal & modest. The breakfast table has been carved out with wooden partition & simple groove detail.
- Staircase
The fabricated staircase becomes one of the most aesthetical & functional elements of the house. It has been designed with rectangle G.I.Pipe sections as the structural members & 1”x1” sectioned G.I.Pipe as railing making it looks light weighted & aesthetically pleasing. The wooden planks have been used on the trades, while the surrounding walls have been treated with dark grey color, groove pattern & textured finish. The local artist Mr. Vileshbhai Billimoria was hired to make the wall painting of the staircase landing. The staircase open ups to the family sitting & passage area of the bedrooms on 1st floor. It has a double height cut-out of the pooja area below. The passage walls have panelling with hidden door to the bedrooms.

- Master bedroom & a.toilet
The master bedroom has been designed with a concept of having minimalistic design with bed-back & walls. The bed-back has been designed with blue velvet fabric & brass strip inlay. The toilet wall has hidden door panelling with textured laminate & brass strips inlay. The toilet has been designed with light grey matt finished floor tile & dark grey glossy marble tile making it much luxurious for the owner of the house.
- Daughters’ bedroom
The daughters’ bedroom has been designed with pop coloured wall. The navy blue coloured velvet finished bed back with indirect profile light gives a dramatic play to the wall making it the important feature of the design & space as well. The plenty of shelves were the requirements from the girls themselves to store their dolls & other toy’s accessories.

- Other Bedrooms
The rest of the both bedrooms have been designed with an idea of having plenty of storage for the family where the cupboard design has played the major role. Sliding doors of the cupboards have simple grooves detains with custom made wooden handle.
