As paradoxical as it sounds, it is a small studio that can open up space for the designer’s imagination and the birth of interesting ideas. All the more so that work on the interior of this apartment began long before implementation: it was time to think, buy materials and go to the start of the project as prepared as possible.

During this time, the original stylistic solution has also changed: instead of the planned loft, a soft minimalist style was chosen. It allowed us to delicately combine simplicity, comfort and amazing functionality in an area of 37 square meters.

One of the non-trivial solutions was to move the entrance: we removed the partition between the kitchen, for which a small niche was originally intended, and the corridor. Now the room can be accessed from the kitchen, and all together became the common area of the kitchen-living room. The former door was behind the sofa, but it was not filled in and was turned into an unusual window.

Wooden walls and an apron of wood, cleverly covered with glass, in the kitchen work to unify the space. The integrity of the composition is maintained by the floor without thresholds, and laconic kitchen fronts, which have become part of the living room, almost imperceptible background to it. There are no usual chandeliers, but there is an architecture of light, which was built specifically to help visually expand the space.

As a rule, in a studio you are in the kitchen, living room and bedroom at the same time. On the one hand, the absence of blank walls is a definite plus, but on the other hand, a person still needs at least a minimum level of intimacy, personal space. So the “bedroom” is placed behind an aquarium wall with a fireplace – like a warm cosy stove. Such a partition does not visually reduce the square footage, is multifunctional (on the other side there is a TV set) and can be easily dismantled if desired.
