Project Name: Sky Full of Stars
Studio Name: Urban Zen
Following the famous adage “form follows function”, the Project ‘Sky Full of Stars’ by Urban Zen tells the story of German craftsmanship set on Indian land.
Hulsta/Rolf Benz showroom is intended to create an exclusive space on a relatively unexclusive site – The German furniture brand’s own office building. Located in a well-known crowded area of New Delhi, the large 7,130 sq ft open-plan office space is spread across three atypical levels.
The entrance level is six feet above the street, the ‘raised floor’ is three feet higher than the entrance level, and the basement level that accommodated the old showroom is six feet below the street. Although these atypical levels remain a challenge, they were taken to the advantage, by designing for different experiences at each level.
