Modern luxury has many shades, but the one preferred by Meenu Agarwal of MADS Creations is steeped in opulence, gold accents and rich details. This sprawling home at DLF Capital Greens, Delhi, is a testimony to that.

The owners of this home had found Meenu’s work on Google, and were mighty impressed with her signature style, and decided that it was best suited for their dream home. Their plan included combining two apartments of 3,500 sqft area each facing each other on the same floor to create a luxurious home for themselves.
So, Meenu turned the lift lobby into the connecting foyer between the two homes. The foyer was designed with a statement console, a vibrant artwork and colourful chandelier.
Each home had four bed rooms and a servant room. Meenu combined and converted a a few rooms to create a spacious master bedroom with a lounge, a formal dining room and a larger kitchen for the family of four – a couple with two teenage children.
In one of the apartments, a bedroom was converted into a formal dining area on a raised platform with marble inlay flooring. The adjoining bathroom was turned into a gorgeous powder room. The kitchen was extended to include the servant room to achieve a larger space.
In the other apartment, the bedroom next to the master bedroom was added as a lounge by breaking down the dividing wall, and replacing it with a metal screen coated in gold, a signature element of Meenu Agarwal’s design.
With these major tweaks, Meenu achieved open spaces that flow seamlessly resulting in an expansive feeling. The home is now left with six bedrooms, and several connecting living and lounge areas, partially separated by gold polished metal screens.
The grand veins of Grigio Orobico smoky grey stone covering the most of the floor play delightfully with the diverse textures used in the detailing of the interiors, adding a rich note to the spaces. In some places you can also see playful marble inlays adding to the textural play.
The use of exotic stones is the mainstay of the home – Flamingo is used in the dining area on the pantry side, while Honey onyx is used in the main dining; Casablanca, NSL, Zebrano, Brescia Crema, Vegas Gold, Golden Sienna are used in the various bathrooms and powder room; the main kitchen counter is made of Solar white. The predominantly soft pastel palette of the walls diffuses the golden accents to create a luxe environment.
Stunning statement furniture custom designed and created by MADS Creations at their facility complement the lavish spaces they occupy with bold shapes and forms, exquisite materials and finishes, and sophisticated textures. The informal dining and entertaining area features a bar counter in green which looks as though it is suspended from the ceiling.
The bedrooms are mostly done up in soothing shades with delightful detailing on the walls using wallpapers, paneling and interesting artworks. Sculptural lights specially customised for the space elevate the luxury quotient of the spaces. And exclusive accessories and thoughtfully curated artworks enhance the beauty of the interiors. No doubt, it’s a home that looks wow, yet it feels like home.
