In the blu.INK project, Bohrer Arquitetos blends urban art, design, and architecture to
transform a 74-square-meter apartment in Londrina, Paraná, Brazil. The use of bold blue
hues throughout the interior brings a cosmopolitan flair, setting the tone for a dynamic and contemporary living space.

The apartment’s layout was designed for functionality and openness. The kitchen flows into the laundry area and extends to a gourmet balcony equipped with a barbecue, creating a unified social zone. This fluid configuration invites natural light into the space, enhancing comfort and promoting interaction while framing views of the city.

Material choices play a central role in defining the apartment’s character. A curated mix of
patterned tiles adds visual interest, complemented by asymmetrical lighting fixtures that
introduce sculptural elements. Wooden slatted panels serve a dual purpose of privacy and
airflow, discreetly enclosing the utility spaces. Bespoke furniture, including an oval-shaped
dining table and surrounding seating, brings movement and spatial efficiency. A high kitchen counter adds to the versatility of the environment.

The transition between the living room and balcony is marked by artistic touches that
command attention. Sculptures, paintings, and graphic prints break up the dominant blue
tones, becoming focal points that reinforce the urban and artistic sensibility of the design.
These pieces contrast intentionally with the color scheme, creating layers of visual texture.

In the more private areas, the boldness of the blue is softened to foster a calming
atmosphere. Organic curves continue throughout the furniture and spatial layout, ensuring
consistency. The master bedroom and additional two rooms feature a refined selection of
materials – stainless steel, wood, and light-toned furnishings – chosen for both aesthetics and comfort. Rounded shapes and natural lighting help accentuate the textures and colors,
creating a serene yet sophisticated environment.
