Soaring above the cityscape of Ahmedabad, this 3,600 sq ft penthouse is a sophisticated sanctuary that beautifully blends nature, openness, and upscale design. Crafted for a family moving from a large bungalow, the key design challenge was to replicate the expansive, warm feel of a bungalow within a high-rise setting. This was achieved through strategic civil modifications—such as a custom-built staircase, soaring double-height spaces, and bedrooms that connect directly to terraces—bringing a grounded, airy feel to this elevated abode.

The interiors embrace a palette of subdued, timeless hues, elevated with luxurious materials like fluted panels, stone finishes, tinted mirrors, and Italian marble. The entryway immediately sets a graceful tone with soft curves, textured walls, and integrated storage solutions. Fluted glass sliding doors delicately separate the drawing room, offering the perfect balance of transparency and seclusion. Just beyond, the family lounge opens into a grand double-height dining area, where a glowing onyx marble table, leather-upholstered chairs, and a rustic red brick accent wall create a dramatic, yet cozy setting.

A show-stopping feature of the home is the floating wooden staircase—custom-fabricated and suspended—it acts as both a sculptural centerpiece and a functional connection between levels. The kitchen is sleek and modern, outfitted with state-of-the-art appliances cleverly concealed within seamless cabinetry. Meanwhile, the Mandir space combines corten steel and fluted glass, offering a serene and contemporary spiritual zone.

Each bedroom in the penthouse carries a distinct vibe: the master suite is anchored by earthy textures, the daughter’s room is light-filled and refined, the parents’ suite follows a minimalist, curved design language, and the guest room leans into modern opulence. All sleeping spaces are enhanced with hydraulic beds and open terrace access, inviting in sunlight and a sense of freedom.

The double-height terrace evokes both traditional and modern aesthetics, featuring a lush vertical garden alongside a regal Ja̅rokha̅ detail that pays homage to heritage architecture. The first-floor study—enclosed in telescopic glass with panoramic views—overlooks the living area below and is accented with a warm brick wall, creating a perfect retreat for focus and creativity.

Adjacent to the office, an open terrace garden with semi-circular WPC seating offers an inviting outdoor space for family gatherings and moments of quiet reflection amidst greenery.
