The architectural language of the exterior embraces a global aesthetic with a refined grandeur, exuding a sense of exclusivity. Meanwhile, the interior design adheres to the client’s vision of a space that is sophisticated yet low-maintenance, evoking a sense of tranquility. Given the close-knit layout of neighboring homes, privacy was a key concern. To ensure a sense of seclusion, the façade was meticulously designed using an eclectic mix of wood, stone, and perforated aluminum screens—creating a striking yet cohesive visual identity that stands out amidst the conventional architectural landscape.

Upon entry, the stilt level welcomes visitors with expansive landscaping in place of conventional parking. The grand double-height lobby, paired with a five-foot-wide entrance door, establishes a dramatic first impression. A serene home office, featuring an all-white palette and contemporary minimalist furnishings, benefits from ample natural light streaming through large windows that offer views of the lush greenery outside. The interiors maintain a seamless flow, striking a delicate balance between elegance and functionality.

On the ground floor, the left wing beyond the staircase houses a refined lobby space crowned by an openable timber ceiling—a design feature that artfully conceals essential services without disrupting the bedroom privacy. Flanking the lobby are the dining area and study. The dining space is distinguished by a feature wall adorned with staggered vertical wooden panels, complemented by an eye-catching lighting fixture comprising suspended globe pendants. A central courtyard introduces an abundance of natural light and ventilation throughout the home. Adjacent to this space, the family lounge echoes the design philosophy of the residence, boasting a sculptural lighting piece that doubles as an art installation. The living room, positioned on the right, is a testament to architectural ingenuity. Here, a floating fireplace, suspended from the ceiling, creates a mesmerizing visual illusion as it seemingly extends across multiple floors. A semi-circular arrangement of globe lights further enhances the room’s celestial-inspired aesthetic, while a backlit grey feature wall adds depth and dimension.

Ascending to the first floor, the lobby emerges as a focal point with its sophisticated low-profile furniture and the continuation of the signature timber ceiling. A statement turquoise blue art piece, crafted from oxidized copper, evolves over time, lending an ever-changing yet timeless appeal to the space. Targeted lighting highlights its dynamic patina, amplifying its artistic presence. The guest bedroom, an embodiment of understated luxury, features a neutral color scheme with gold accents, a geometric ceiling-mounted lighting installation, and durable porcelain finishes for effortless maintenance. The children’s bedroom, thoughtfully designed, incorporates a recessed study nook and a fabric-padded headboard that enhances both comfort and acoustic insulation. A custom art installation above the bed serves as both a decorative element and a dimmable night light. The master suite, designed for the client’s elderly parents, is a sanctuary of comfort with a predominantly white palette, leather headrests, and lacquered panels. Subtle accents of color appear through carefully selected furniture and a grey veneer ceiling. Meanwhile, the front-facing bedroom boasts a floating bed and an innovative combination of track and pendant lighting.
On the second floor, the lobby is framed by floor-to-ceiling glass, offering uninterrupted views of the terrace garden. The master suite of the homeowners introduces a novel approach to spatial organization, with a suspended panel serving as a TV unit that subtly divides the sleeping and seating areas. Clean lines and a muted color scheme mirror the refined tastes of the residents, while a dynamic lighting installation, featuring a fluid array of globe lights, enhances the international flair of the space.

The basement diverges from the rest of the home with its industrial-inspired aesthetic, conceived as an entertainment zone for the younger generation. A striking prop installation featuring signboards from global cities adds a playful, cosmopolitan touch to the lounge area. Two sunken gardens ensure abundant daylight and ventilation for the integrated gym and spa facilities.
Sustainability and energy efficiency played a vital role in the design, with passive cooling strategies incorporated through cavity walls insulated with vermiculite, high-performance thermal break fenestrations, and monolithic spray insulation on the terrace. Horizontal and vertical shading devices, along with an on-grid solar panel system, further contribute to the residence’s energy efficiency. The façade materials were chosen for their durability and low maintenance, with a composition of perforated corten-look aluminum and leather-finished stone creating a visually engaging contrast. Every bathroom was designed with private green spaces, introducing an airy openness and maximizing natural light.

Beyond being a residence, The Centaurus embodies the ethos of luxury living, offering an intergenerational retreat where family and friends can gather, celebrate, and forge lasting memories. This home is both an architectural landmark and an experiential sanctuary, setting a new benchmark for contemporary high-end residences.
