This two-story home in Zoloche Cottage Town near Kyiv, designed by Aisel Kononenko, is a modern retreat with views of the Dnipro Bay. The 387 m² space was created for a couple who wanted a contemporary interior that reflects their personalities, moving away from the classic style of their previous Lviv residence.

The couple, who are art collectors, needed a space that would harmonize with their collection of contemporary Ukrainian art while avoiding cold gray tones and minimalist aesthetics. Instead, they opted for a warm sandy palette, expressive marble, and brass textures.

The home features a flexible layout on the ground floor, where public areas can be opened up or zoned with sliding doors, perfect for large family gatherings. A 7-meter-high combined hall and dining room is anchored by a custom marble and brass fireplace, with brass elements recurring throughout the space.

The interior balances tradition with modernity, incorporating Art Deco elements like brass inlays and black marble accents. Natural materials like richly textured marble, polished brass, and wood tones are complemented by soft, rounded furniture and intricate textiles, creating a harmonious yet dynamic environment.

Each room is uniquely designed with personal touches, such as the grandmother’s light and neutral bedroom with an antique icon from Lviv, and the master bedroom with a custom bed offering views of the Dnipro Bay.
