Quirk Studio has masterfully created a contemporary home with accents of the English countryside, incorporating neoclassical-inspired elements through a modern lens. The result is a sublime, neutral space layered with minimalistic yet opulent details, radiating natural light and warmth.

Upon entering, the passage serves as the circulation spine of the home, connecting the study, the living room’s formal and informal areas, and the dining space, with the kitchen on one side and the master and guest bedrooms on the other. Each space, unified by a subdued color palette, explores materials like natural stone, wood, cane, and linen. Despite the limited material palette, intricate details abound, ensuring the design is far from mundane.

The tranquil living room, an expansive space marked by statement furniture pieces, embodies the overarching design aesthetic. Pristine white Bianco Esilla flooring from Classic Marble Company ties the space together, contrasted beautifully by grey walls. The formal area features a curated pair of sofas in mellow shades and classic Chandigarh chairs in a light oak wood finish.

An eloquent ombre art piece in sage green adorns the panelled wall, complemented by another piece in blue by the informal seating area. Lounge chairs upholstered in black and white pinstripes face a contemporary grey console, while a concealed bar on the opposite wall offers ample storage. Handcrafted ombre murals by artist Nimrit Narang, based on the yin and yang concept, add significant charm without overpowering the aesthetic.

The dining table, positioned between windows on two sides, connects to the living area through a pseudo-three-centered arch, enhancing the neoclassical appeal. A minimalistic white marble tabletop on fluted oak wood legs pairs with grey dining chairs. A sliding partition door with fluted glass connects the dining area to the kitchen. Opulence is channeled through two chandeliers above, but the skyline views steal the show.

Arches, a recurring motif in the home, line the central corridor. A pair of consecutive arches guide one from the living spaces to the bedrooms. The panelled passage, adorned with black and white art frames, breaks symmetry with poetic elegance.

The master bedroom features an all-white decor framing grey-toned furniture pieces. Textures and materials add depth and character to the monochromatic space. Lines play a significant role, evident in the panelled wall, the wardrobe proportions, and the ottoman print. The bathroom mirrors the white aesthetic with white marble surfaces and a cast-in-situ basin counter on a wooden cabinet, enhanced by gold accents.

The guest bedroom, true to the palette, is a grey haven. Wooden elements warm the interior through herringbone-patterned flooring, an ornate bed frame, and side tables. Striped upholstery on the bed back and watercolor paintings of the owner’s favorite scenes add life and color. Ancillary spaces like the rustic balcony with deck wood flooring and the cozy study room with minimalist oak wood furniture and herringbone flooring celebrate living. Even the eclectic powder bathroom aligns with the color palette, with textured beige and black marble adding an element of surprise.
