At the heart of Sorry Giotto lies the circle, one of the most elemental and timeless shapes. Reduced to its essence, the circular form becomes both light source and artwork, floating effortlessly within a space. Its lyrical simplicity conceals a strong sculptural identity, allowing the lamps to illuminate interiors with elegance.
“I wanted to recreate one of the simplest, cleanest shapes: the circle. I tried making a lamp that was minimally intrusive. When I switched it on, its name came to me immediately: Sorry Giotto,” says the designer.
Crafted from hand-painted blue copper rings, complemented by blue electrical wires and a black dimmer, the collection includes a pendant lamp with floor connection, a table lamp and a floor lamp. The table lamp rests on a rough iron base and is finished with a nickel or black dimmer, while the floor lamp features a solid iron base and stem, reinforcing the balance between delicacy and industrial strength.
Sorry Giotto illustrates how light, when stripped of excess, can become an expressive and timeless design element.
