6. American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial, Washington DC

The memorial commissioned in honour of the veterans of American military operations who have suffered vital disabilities in their service at Washington, DC was a winning entry in collaboration with Michael Vergason Landscape Architects. The memorial lies in proximity to the Mall and in clear read of the Capitol. The planning demanded the configuration of a broad triangular reflection pool and a fundamental angular reflection pool, which, along with a centrally positioned, self-sufficing fire component, function as a integral part of the memorial.

8. Hilliard Art Museum, Lafayette

The feature by FDC at the Hilliard Art Museum is a slightly slanting wall that is finished in fine, rough aggregate, densely embedded in an epoxy matrix. A fine membrane of water flows over the wall’s textured end. A delicate shimmering rhythm is cast on the wall by the water’s motion. At regular intervals, one can witness waves of froth wash down, forming variations in visuals and of acoustic nature.
