1. The Icon – Downtown, San Jose, California, USA

The icon is a proposed mixed-use development project placed on 70 acres of the plot. The proposed project is a skyscraper designed to deceive the human eyes into viewing two connected towers in the place of a single tower. The high rise building includes 348 apartment units comprising a studio, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 bedroom sequences. The building also features four floors of office space below the residential apartments and, both the office and residence have separate entrance lobbies. The ground level will serve as a retail space.

2. Fountain Alley Building – San Jose, California, USA

Fountain Alley Building, is another proposed mixed-use development situated on the famed Fountain Alley and the construction will begin in the year 2021. A part of the building is a pre-existing historic building and will function as the main entrance and lobby for the office spaces. The building features a retail space as well as an office space. The rooftop of the building will serve as the biggest restaurant and bar in Silicon Valley.

3. Almaden Road Apartments – Almaden Expressway, San Jose, California, USA

Al Maden Road Apartments, a series of residential apartments, is located on a 7.5 Acre plot. Studio Current was commissioned for the project by Fairfield Housing. Studio Current designed 318 apartment units including 1,2 and 3 bedroom sequences spread across four buildings, designed to resemble farm and agriculture buildings from the 20th Century. Despite the traditional exterior of the building, the interiors of the apartments display modernity. The apartment building is oriented towards a park and features patios and landscaped courtyards to increase the exposure of the residents to green spaces.

4. Cristo Rey High School – San Jose, California, USA

Cristo Rey High School is a secondary education school, housed in a two-story building placed on a 3.8-acre plot. The firm Studio Current designed the institute to comprise classrooms for multiple uses along with administrative offices and a chapel in a 100-year-old Church. Despite it being an educational institute, the building exhibited a modern office environment and The Sobrato Organisation commissioned the project to Studio Current, who also designed a potential multi-purpose hall for the institute.

5. Centerra Tower – Downtown, San Jose, California, USA

Centerra Tower is a residential project commissioned by the Swenson Builders. Studio Current has achieved a Classic Metropolitan look by using materials like limestone, bricks and glazed openings. The luxurious apartment building houses a landscaped roof deck and a rooftop dog park along with other amenities. The apartment complex covers an entire city block, located beside the San Pedro Square Urban Market.

6. Five55 Pacific Avenue – Santa Cruz, California, USA

Five55 Pacific Avenue is a mixed-use project consisting of 94 apartment units, a restaurant and retail space, the amalgamation of which create a streetscape that attracts residents and tourists alike. A four-storey podium structure, flanked by the apartments, houses the restaurant and retail space.  The Five55 Pacific Avenue, considered the largest housing community in Santa Cruz is an urban infill project.

7. Midtown Arts Mercantile – San Jose, California, USA

Midtown Arts Mercantile is another project commissioned by The Swenson Builders. Studio Current redeveloped century-old cold storage into an industrial hub for creators and manufacturers. The arts mercantile features a brewery, a florist and a furniture maker among other amenities. Timber salvaged, from the cold storage, was used in the millwork of the new facility.

8. Taylor Farms HQ – Downtown Salinas, California, USA

Taylor Farms is a five-storey building on a 2.25 Acre site. The building complex, built as the focal point of a redevelopment project, is designed for aesthetic and community enhancement. The building features a roof terrace, a streetscape retail space and a corner plaza. The interiors of the building also include unique spaces like test-kitchens and an auditorium. Taylors Farm Complex, constructed using St. Joe’s Brick imported from New Orleans, USA, is a commercial office space.

9. San Pedro Square Market, San Jose, California, USA

San Pedro Square Market is a community retail market located on a 1.5 Acre site. Studio Current had collaborated with JRDV Architects to design the first Urban Market Square in San Jose. To fulfil the project the designers had to convert three downtown buildings (two historical buildings and, a new metal building) and, a city-owned plaza to form the multi-tenant market place with a stage and various restaurants. American Institute of Architects had awarded the project a Design Award for Urban Planning.

10. Koret Athletic Training Center, San Jose State University – San Jose, California, USA

Koret Athletic Training Centre, a training facility at the San Jose State University, was constructed for the 16 sport Student Athletic Programs offered by the university. The facility exhibits state-of-the-art fitness equipment along with various other amenities. The majority of the architecture features glazed openings to avail daylighting. The training centre also won accolades for the use of pre-engineered steel construction.

11. Mckendrie Court, San Jose, California, USA

McKendrie Court, a residential project of 4 court homes, consists of 4 and 5 bedroom sequences with private yards and shared parking. Situated on a 0.45-acre plot, McKendrie Court is a project in progress.

12. Keystone @ Downtown West, San Jose, California, USA

The Keystone, a hospitality project, undertaking the brand name of Marriott comprises 175 hotel room units. Considered to be the largest multiple model hub, is expected to function as a business hotel. The project commences in the year 2021.

13. Boy Scouts Camp In The High Sierras, California, USA

The Boy Scouts camp in the High Sierras, an urban infill project, is located in a site surrounded by Sierra Pines in the Long Barn in California. Scouts get to experience the mountain themed faux town as the camp was previously in a logging site. The architecture at the campsite resembles traditional mountain houses.

14. Post And San Pedro Tower, San Jose, California, USA

Post and San Pedro Tower, a mixed-use building, consists of a ground-level dedicated to commercial and retail use and 21 levels of apartment units above it. The stands on an underutilized parking lot in a central point in Downtown San Jose.

15. 1530 West San Carlos, San Jose, California, USA

Studio Current proposed to build a mixed-use development, situated on a 1.34-acre site. The building contains 173 condominium units and 20000 ft2 of office and retail space. The project commences in the summer of the year 2020.
