In this visionary project, architects Alexander Pechko and Danila Malyshev were tasked with crafting a modern abode that radiates brightness, light, and joy. Through detailed questionnaires, insightful conversations, and visits to the family’s previous residence, they delved deep into the family’s lifestyle, capturing their essence and understanding their desires. Their solution: an eclectic minimalist style punctuated with bold designer pieces, perfectly mirroring the family’s vibe.

The residence unfolds over three levels, each with its own unique charm. The ground floor is a sanctuary of relaxation and entertainment, featuring a pool, spa area, sauna, a multifunctional kitchen and wardrobe area, a massage room, seasonal wardrobes, a wine cellar, a cozy home theater, ample storage, and essential utility rooms. The heart of the house, the main second level, welcomes with an elegant entrance hall and flows into a spacious hall opening to a patio. It also includes a living room, dining room, a dual kitchen setup, a discreet guest bathroom, an office, a welcoming guest room with an en suite, a sun-kissed south-facing terrace, and a luxurious master bedroom suite complete with a balcony, opulent bathroom, and dressing room. The top floor houses a girl’s and a boy’s bedroom, each with a balcony, dressing room, and bathroom, creating personal havens for the children.

Mindful of the site’s 16-meter elevation, the architects ingeniously integrated the house into the slope, doubling it as a retaining wall. This unique positioning influenced the layout, particularly on the slope-facing side. To usher sunlight into the second level, a creatively designed patio became the centerpiece, bathing the office, dining room, and hall in natural light, while providing a secluded outdoor retreat. Skylights further enhance the brightness in the living and dining areas, harmonizing with the patio to create an ethereal lighting effect throughout the home.

The interior’s palette is a testament to the beauty of natural materials. Wood, marble, slate, metal, and glass converge in a minimalist yet sophisticated atmosphere. The expansive rooms, adorned with panoramic windows showcasing stunning mountain views, are dressed in light finishes and natural textures. Walls adjoining the slope are artfully designed to mimic rock textures with natural slate, symbolizing the home’s seamless bond with the surrounding wilderness. A previously purchased Minotti kitchen with a grand stone island and expansive cabinetry set the tone for the house’s dimensions and proportions.

Furniture and decor selections from eclectic and modern collections by brands like Baxter, Henge, Gallotti & Radice, Minotti, Visionnaire, and Antonio Lupi add vibrancy and character to the space. From the early concrete monolith stage, the house stood out with its striking proportions and spatial volumes.

The architects reflect, “The planning solution and the overall architecture, both exterior and interior, were the most challenging yet striking aspects of this project. Our main goal was to create a design that was impactful without being overwhelming, and we believe we achieved that balance.” This project is a masterclass in architectural harmony, blending innovative design with the spirit of its inhabitants.
