Heavily inspired by the characteristics of Santorini’s architecture, the space combines white plaster and bright colors, bringing out the happiness of the summer and vacation in the rooms. Keeping up with the Mediterranean touch, the interior also deals with a great sense of colors and contrasts while the flooring and the bathroom here are laid out in handcrafted ceramic tiles, to impart a rich feel and a unique aesthetic value to the spaces. Conceptualized as an Industrial theme, SALUT is a sustainable Bistro and pub situated amidst a cosmopolitan neighborhood of Bangalore. Laid out in 3 levels, the space is designed to have a welcoming feel throughout the pub. The lower level comprises the dining area, a small display bar, a kitchen, and a dedicated smoking area. The upper level houses the main bar, lounge space, and restrooms. Accommodating private parties, a mezzanine floor overlooks the double-height main bar, and the main street. The house is composed of three columns which culminate in an overhanging bridge. The living spaces nestled around it results in a dynamic design with multiple levels which externally resemble a set of nested boxes suspended over the landscape. The subtle play of levels gives the structure a sense of ease. Large French windows combine the external and internal spaces. The finishes and overall appearances of the house tend to be extremely sober, sustained, and clean. The building itself harmonizes with its surroundings through its stone toned façade.

This compact restaurant houses 54 seats situated on the upper ground floor of a commercial building at the intersection of two major roads of the city. The curvilinear roof design imparts a unique style and personality to this trendy diner amidst the generic streetscape. The whole space was carefully laid out to make the interior feel airy and mainly to give prominence to the dynamism strong roof that flowed from end to end. The furniture is kept minimal to balance the flamboyance of the ceiling while the kitchen is pushed to the floor above, to provide uninterrupted views of the main streets.

The site is nested in one of the busiest and congested parts of Bangalore and is designed for a businessman family. The site itself was a tricky one, as the house had to be designed on the small vacant portion of an already existing three-story structure at the rear end. The result was a three-bedroom unit with an additional provision of office space, a swimming pool, an elevator with a chic and modern interior.

“Techno” literally translating to Technology, inspired the firm to base their design of their office around the idea of incorporating new and old technological solutions in their design. The main office is nestled in a 100-year-old building, was re-created in the same old atmosphere without having broken or altered the existing setting. These rustic and ethnic concepts were evolved keeping in mind the “old technology”. The office, since being expanded further, is clad in glass and steel and reflects the “new technology”.

The brief required a house for a family of four in South Bangalore. The clients aspired for a Contemporary design of a Contemporary house, with a more fluid arrangement of spaces, along with work and entertainment zones on different levels. At the same time, they wanted a landscape that combined all spaces internally and externally.

The ground floor essentially consists of public and semi-public activities that overlook into a common landscape area looking onto the street, while the interior and the exterior spaces blend seamlessly into each other on the same platform. The private rooms are placed in the upper levels with ample view of the front landscape garden.  Being positioned right on the entry steps, cantilevered structural support and hence the name “HOUSE IN THE AIR”.
