What looked like a modest 1,000 sq. ft. bungalow in Bangalore revealed itself to Vinithra Amarnathan, principal designer at Weespaces, as something far richer – a quiet sanctuary to house the studio’s workspace.

Project Name: Weespaces Headquarters
Studio Name: Weespaces studio

Rather than simply functioning as an office, the space was conceived as a physical extension of the studio’s evolving aesthetic – a place where concepts, materials, and palettes could be tested, layered, and lived with. Scandinavian-inspired tones and minimal sensibilities form the foundation, but it is the interplay of textures, colours, and collected pieces that gives the space its soul. Over time, it has taken on the character of a living moodboard – ever-changing, deeply personal, and unmistakably Weespaces.

One walks through the tree-lined compound of the quaint bungalow, its facade unfolding in shades of white and grey – the signature colors of the studio. A quiet ascent leads to the first floor, where the office resides. The landing opens into a light-filled waiting room, serene and warm. Crisp white walls reflect the glow of daylight, while muted beige tiles ground the flooring. A woven checkerboard rug adds a touch of warmth, its terracotta tones echoing the earthiness outside. To the left, a wall of framed photographs showcases the studio’s completed projects – personal milestones turned into a quiet gallery of memories. The space feels like a pause – a gentle exhale – before stepping into the creative rhythm of the studio. Two doors lead from here: one to the meeting room, and another, painted a joyful shade of yellow, that opens into the working spaces beyond.

The meeting room, designed for conversations and briefs, strikes a careful balance between function and feeling. A bold black-and-white striped sofa anchors the space, its graphic presence softened by the warm white walls. Natural light enhances a thoughtful palette, where stone, cane, and metal come together in the Italian marble table and classic Cesca chairs seating layout – each material adding layers of depth and character. On one wall, a series of niches hold objects, samples, and books – thoughtfully curated for an artful display. Vinithra says, “The meeting room is my favorite space – it is the first place people see and has that comfortable charm I love. It sets the tone for every client interaction, offering a warm and inviting environment that encourages open dialogue and collaboration.”

Retracing our steps through the waiting room, we step through the yellow doorway into the heart of the studio – the workspaces. Spread across two rooms, these are spaces of quiet focus and thoughtful making. Minimalism guides the design here, with only the essentials in place. A solid wooden table sits beneath an Akari-inspired paper light, casting a soft, ambient glow. Ergonomic chairs line the walls with quiet purpose. One side comprises the simple storage units, while the other comes alive with a row of niches – this time showcasing handcrafted pottery made by the designers during an offsite, imbuing the space with memory and meaning. The palette remains rooted in whites, browns, and blacks, while a series of artworks in rich indigo tones lend contrast and depth.

Just beyond, the founder’s cabin unfolds – a room clad entirely in a soothing powder blue tone. The shift in palette feels intentional, introducing a note of calm and clarity. A live-edge wooden desk anchors the space, paired with a cane armchair and a vibrant dhurrie underfoot that nods to traditional craftsmanship. Personal paintings, framed awards, and cherished memorabilia are thoughtfully displayed – a quiet homage to Vinithra’s journey and the studio’s evolution.

In one of the smaller rooms of the bungalow, the sample room takes form. White shelving lines the wall in clean symmetry, while a central wooden table serves as the site for material play – where swatches are laid out, combinations explored, and design stories begin to take shape.

Even the powder washroom receives its share of attention. A cheerful chequered floor of terracotta and white tiles brings a playful spirit, complemented by a custom-designed wallpaper that infuses this tiny space with personality and charm.

Upstairs, the terrace offers a quiet exhale – ideal for casual gatherings, spontaneous chats, or a breath of fresh air, with views of the neighbourhood’s foliage framing the pause.

Stepping into this office is like stepping into the quiet mind of Weespaces itself – a space where calm intentionality meets creative possibility. Every corner reveals a deliberate exploration of materiality and mood, transforming the workspace into a living design experiment that continuously shapes the studio’s evolving vision and sparks fresh inspiration.
