Located next to the National Rope factory, the House in Belém project consisted in re-converting what had become a single family dwelling, back into two separate apartments.

Inspired by its setting we used sailing rope as a key feature of the design in order to create a mezzanine space, which can be used as an extra bedroom on the upper floor apartment.

In the downstairs apartment, we managed to bring natural light deep into the plan by cleverly crafting a skylight into the back of the property.
