BE House is a project that materialized after establishing a very clear program: the kitchen needed to be placed at the heart of the house, and a separate sitting room at a distance from the eating area.

From the point of our initial contact with the project we worked on the premise of an L-shaped volume with the kitchen to the north, the living room to the west, and between the two, a garden —in contrast to the blind wall on the side of the street— linking both spaces and attracting the gaze of those only entering through the lobby (located at the intersection of both sides of the volume) featuring a three-meter picture window.

To the north of the property the kitchen adjoins an unobtrusive swimming pool and a fire pit between bushes and trees, offering views onto the different aspects of the construction.

We like to talk about the house as a garden house, because all of its spaces—from the social area on the ground floor to the public spaces on the upper level—are designed around the garden and can be almost completely opened up onto it, creat-ing a close connection with nature, like an oasis of calm within the bustling city.
