The client is a young businessman heading a multifaceted industry and intended to built a house that is modern and evolving in its core essence. Therefore, as a representation of his vision, we decided to go for a layered planning, with a modern interpretation of the courtyard into green belts. The concept of these layers is exaggerated and translated quite literally into its facia and also the volume.

Theme of the Space:

The house is a modern interlock of greens and grays. Here the grays are the voids in the green envelope created by the built mass. The house is conceptually designed to create a volumetric and visual interplay of green belts. The house in its appearance is extremely modern and nonconformist. An intersection of semi-permeable surfaces of metal, glass, and wood encases the space. The materials and punctuations are designed to give a feel of an exoskeleton placed on a greenscape.

Concept:

The farmhouse embodies a seamless integration with nature, with its architecture carefully blending into the surrounding landscape. Its design is characterized by layered volumes, creating a harmonious relationship between indoor and outdoor spaces. Divided into public, semi-public, and private zones, the layout ensures functionality while maintaining a cohesive flow.

Green buffers play a crucial role in delineating these zones, providing both privacy and aesthetic appeal. Strategically oriented along the east-west axis, the farmhouse maximizes natural light and minimizes heat gain. The use of permeable layers of vegetation further enhances comfort by filtering sunlight and cooling the interior.

In terms of materials, glass and vegetation are employed to create a balance between modernity and natural beauty. Transparent facades blur the boundaries between inside and outside, while lush greenery softens the architectural lines, fostering a sense of tranquility.

Overall, the farmhouse serves as a testament to the symbiotic relationship between human habitation and the environment. Through thoughtful design and sustainable practices, it offers a sanctuary where residents can connect with nature while enjoying modern comforts.

Colour & Material Palette

The house embodies modernity, crafted from steel, glass, and concrete, with minimalist interiors adorned with carefully chosen art. Its exterior seamlessly flows into the interior, featuring exposed concrete, leather, wood, stone, and metal. Each element contributes to a larger narrative reflecting the inhabitants’ lifestyle.

With a raw, unpolished aesthetic, the house integrates with nature, offering a unique spatial experience. Green buffers provide privacy and enhance the architectural masterpiece, where volumes intersect with the landscape.

This design ethos, characterized by interconnected volumes and a harmony with nature, defines our signature style.

In contrast, the living room serves as a transitional space, while the focal point of the home resides where all areas converge. With translucent screens and lofty double heights, this central space opens up to both the front and back lawns, immersing occupants in a lush, green landscape. From any angle within the house, a rich tapestry of greenery is on display, fostering a serene ambiance and a profound connection to nature.
