Located in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, this authentic Andhra restaurant redefines gastronomy by merging past traditions with modernity. Co-founded by Malvika Rao, Anil Karnati, and Rohit Medisetty, Telugu Medium celebrates indigenous materials and local building techniques typical of the Deccan region.

The architecture features large brick domes, vaults, and exposed load-bearing walls, minimizing concrete and steel use to naturally cool the interior for Hyderabad’s dry climate. The exterior facade uses Karimnagar bricks, adding texture, with concrete planter boxes at the entrance. The alfresco area, entirely brick-paved, connects seamlessly with nature, while outdoor seating under canopies interacts with curved brick elements.

Inside, guests enter through a brick-wrapped vestibule into a dual-leveled restaurant with 13 ft high walls and a double-height atrium flooded with natural light. Crafted brick domes and vaults on the ceiling interact with silhouette lighting, creating an atmospheric ambiance. Furniture complements the space with timeless pieces, reflecting a modern South Indian dining experience. Interiors include brick-molded ceilings, pink lime plaster-washed walls, and textured tandoor flooring, while a fluted glass staircase enhances the atrium.
