For added energy savings and efficiency, the glazed facades have a thermal coating and insulation against low U-values. To allow energy production, the facades also have sensors and photovoltaic panels (Shiell). An integrated recycling system will treat and repurpose gray water, while a rainfall harvesting system will provide an additional source of non-potable water. An automated management system will keep an eye on the environment’s performance and energy usage, as well as identify patterns of occupancy and alter the interior conditions as necessary.
