A 1200sq.ft pre school located in the cozy and green neighbourhood of Matunga. The first brief we received was that this school is “all about the walls” and the designs have stayed true to that. With zero clutter on the floor, all the walls create a different experience for the child.
Project Name: Ikigai Global Prep School
Studio Name: Kypad Design

Subtle pastels shades are used strategically, in an otherwise pristine white environment to enhance wall activities, much in adherence to the Japanese idea minimalism.

Initial vision was to design walls as effective tools to create a safe and stimulating learning environment for the children and to have completely furniture free spaces for the toddlers to explore their environment in new and unique ways.

Ikigai Global Prep School is a perfectly designed toddler friendly environment with all international pre-requisites in place, for learning by the five senses.
The idea was to create different zones as classrooms based on activities mainly Gross motor activities and fine motor activities and have themed walls catering to these activities. The design for the school was a medium to enable these functions and activities.

These entry exit points lead to a corridor that connects all different classrooms of the preschool and the reception. The signages in the corridor and glass capsule doors to classrooms provide visibility and visual cues into the classrooms and other spaces and guide children through the space.
