Palma, February 12, 2025 – Located in the exclusive Son Vida neighborhood in Palma de Mallorca, Villa EVOQUE, designed by Jaime Salvá Architecture & Interior Design for the developer Sophisticated Projects, takes advantage of a steeply sloped plot, turning this challenge into a design opportunity. The access to the residence, from the lowest part of the terrain, was a key factor in the project’s conception.

The home is organized to optimize the site’s topography. The main entrance is through a two-level basement, creating an impressive visual effect from the very first moment. “This space houses the parking area, a wine cellar, and a gym,” explains architect Jaime Salvá, highlighting how this entrance establishes a gradual transition between the exterior and interior of the home.

On the ground floor, the main living spaces are arranged in a T-shape, seamlessly integrating the living room, dining area, and kitchen while maintaining functional independence. “The kitchen connects with the rest of the space through natural materials that create a sense of harmony and continuity,” adds Salvá.

The exterior design also responds to the site’s slope, featuring a two-level pool that adapts perfectly to the elevation change, adding a unique character to the project. The flooring surrounding the pool is the same Living Ceramics material used throughout the ground floor, while the pool’s interior is finished with Onix brand mosaic tiles. The rear garden has been designed as a private retreat, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere that invites residents to enjoy the surroundings.

The use of local materials is key to giving the project its identity. Dry stone walls from Santanyí, used both indoors and outdoors, bring an authentic Mediterranean touch. Technological wood slats add warmth, while the SATE façade system ensures energy efficiency. Together, they create a clean, contemporary aesthetic.

Porcelain flooring from Living Ceramics, featured in the common areas and bathrooms, maintains a cohesive look, while oak wood floors on the upper level add warmth and comfort to the bedrooms and hallways.

The EVOQUE project demonstrates how a challenging site can be fully utilized to create distinctive spaces with strong character. The split-level pool, the basement entrance, and the use of native materials contribute to its unique identity, while the balance between functionality and aesthetics allows the home to maximize both views and natural light.
