Drawing inspiration from Kala Ghoda’s century-old architecture and rich cultural landscape, the store seamlessly integrates old-world charm with modern sophistication. The 16-foot-high heritage ceiling takes center stage, while two steel beams—one at ceiling level and another at 9 feet—are transformed from structural elements into key design features. Amina cleverly incorporated these beams into the creation of a mezzanine and staircase, adding both functionality and aesthetic appeal.
At the lower level, the beams are wrapped in rich wood, blending structural integrity with warmth and inviting charm, beautifully balancing tradition with modernity. As visitors ascend to the first floor, they are greeted by a striking art installation titled ‘CIAO!,’ conceptualised by Arjan Dugal. This bold button artwork, which highlights the brand’s commitment to sustainability and social empowerment, underscores the space’s social and aesthetic values. The store’s eco-conscious design is further emphasized by the preservation of original teak doors, windows, and century-old Burma teak rafters.
Amina’s eclectic design approach shines through in every detail of the space, seamlessly blending diverse elements to create a unified, vibrant environment. Her unique vision celebrates individuality and contrasts, infusing the store with energy and depth.
The store also features personal touches from Arjan, including black-and-white photographs and a feathered hat from his collection, adding further dimension to the collaborative design effort. The result is a space that feels expressive and welcoming, offering visitors a rich, multi-layered experience.
