Located in the city of São Paulo (Brazil), this 240 sqm penthouse facing a park underwent a radical transformation by the hands of architect Natália Salla. The project, which took only six months to complete, fully renovated a five-decade-old apartment, converting it into a modern urban oasis that reflects its residents’ dreams of a home offering inspiring sky views and a serene connection with nature.

The apartment’s design is marked by a neutral and sober base that extends through all rooms, establishing a sophisticated and welcoming environment. Touches of blue in the bar and kitchen areas, as well as shades of green in the hall and lavatory, bring refreshing vitality to the space while maintaining timeless elegance. The selection of analogous rather than complementary colors promotes a balanced and inviting atmosphere.

The project’s challenges were significant, including the implementation of necessary metal reinforcements to accommodate the weight of a bathtub in the main bathroom and a spa on the balcony. Additionally, the rains posed additional challenges, especially for the waterproofing of the outdoor area. Brazilian design is highlighted throughout the apartment, with furniture from renowned designers such as Fernando Jaeger, which combines form, function, and style, enriching the space with the essence of national art and culture.

The decoration includes an impressive collection of acrylic and oil paintings, as well as sculptures by Brazilian artists like Inos Corradin, Sarro, and Evandro Schiavoni. On the walls, the paintings of Pedro Terra, Ornela Jacobsen, Rosa Feltrin, Rosa Maria, De Melo, Osvaldo Ribeiro, Andre Lombardi, Gisele Ulisse, Sergio Amorim, and Marilene Zanchett stand out. A vibrant graffiti of a blue Indian, created by the artist Cranio, adds a strong cultural element to the environment. The complete automation of the apartment encompasses scenario control, curtains, air conditioning, sound, lighting, and locks, plus a central vacuum system, reinforcing the modernity and practicality of the residence.

The balcony, which runs through all the apartment’s environments, is an invitation to directly appreciate the park, the sun, and the open sky, with the occasional presence of birds. The area is decorated with fruit-bearing plants and a selection of herbs, reflecting the residents’ love for cooking. The residence’s wine cellar, equipped with three temperature zones, creates an inviting space for wine tasting, complemented by armchairs designed especially for this purpose.

This renovation transformed the physical space and created a unique atmosphere that reflects the personalities and aspirations of its inhabitants, setting a new standard for sophisticated urban living.
