Instead of opting for conventional approaches, this design looks to blend this important node of mass transit with the urban fabric of the city. A drapery-like fabricated roof floats off the ground on slender metal columns, shading the platform below. Behind the platform, a landscaped area serves as the link between the street beyond and the bus bays while allowing commuters a moment to pause.

Sinuous, pebble-like solid seating blocks spread across the platform make for an aesthetic and durable solution. The concourse is proposed as a red-pigmented concrete surface to serve as a visual cue to prevent pedestrians from stepping on it. Vendor kiosks and toilet facilities are placed towards the edges of the plot.

This project is unique in it’s ability to make mass transit infrastructure appealing to all and to create a flowing public space. All strata of society are catered to in this design which combines ambition, practicality, durability and technology.
