Montpellier, in France, first referenced in a report of 985, was established under a primitive neighbourhood tradition, the Guilhem. Montpellier came to unmistakable quality in the twelfth century — as a trading focus, with trading routes across the Mediterranean world and a rich Jewish social life that prospered inside the customs of resistance of Muslims, Jews and Cathars — and later of its Protestants. The city’s resources of regulation and medication were laid out in 1220 via Cardinal Conrad of Urach, legate of Pope Honorius III; the medication workforce has, throughout the long term, been one of the significant communities for medical education in Europe. This period denoted the high place of Montpellier’s unmistakable quality. The city came under the reign of the Kings of Aragon in 1204 by the marriage of Peter II of Aragon to Marie of Montpellier.
