Takamatsu is a harbor megacity on Japan’s Shikoku Island. It’s known for the sprawling Ritsurin Garden, with a teahouse, koi ponds, landscaped hills and pine timbers. Shikoku Village is an open-air gallery with a collection of literary structures from around the islet. To the south are the hot springs of Shionoe. The megacity was officially innovated on February 15, 1890. It had been a political and profitable centre since the Edo period when the Matsudaira clan made Takamatsu the capital of their hand. Designated as a Special Place of Scenic Beauty by the Japanese government, Ritsurin Garden is especially popular during spring and the afterlife, where night-time illuminations show cherry blossoms and afterlife colours. Takamatsu Castle is famous for using seawater in its culvert, and lately, the old upkeep of the castle has been successfully restored and opened for public viewing.
