Numazu is a megacity located in eastern Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. Numazu is situated at the northwestern end of the Izu Peninsula, a rest destination known for its multitudinous hot springs. On clear days, Mount Fuji, Japan’s altitudinous mountain, may also be seen from Numazu. Numazu is located 130 kilometers west of Tokyo and is on the Tōkaidō Main Line, the main road line from Osaka to Tokyo. The Kano River flows through the middle of the megacity. Numazu is an artificial megacity and indigenous fiscal center. The harbor area has seafood cafes and features an anti-tsunami hedge with an observation bottom that offers a panoramic view of the megacity and the girding area.
