Sendai is a metropolis in Japan’s Tohoku Region, northeast of Tokyo on Honshu island. The ruins of 17th-century Sendai Castle, constructed for samurai lord Date Masamune on Aoba Hill, encompass a museum of ancient artefacts today. The Sendai City Museum specializes in the records and subculture of Japan’s Edo length and presentations of Masamune’s samurai armour. Although the Sendai vicinity became inhabited as early as 20,000 years ago, the records of Sendai as a metropolis started in 1600. The first railway line between Sendai and Tokyo, now the Tōhoku Main Line, opened in 1887, bringing the vicinity inside a day’s journey from Tokyo for the primary time in records. Following World War II, the metropolis was rebuilt, and Sendai became a crucial transportation and logistics hub for the Tōhoku location, developing essential arteries, including the Tōhoku Expressway and Tōhoku Shinkansen.
