With more than 55,000 square meters, IQON offers 220 residences, 5 commercial units and 36 offices housed in the style of BIG’s iconic architecture. The facade is shaped by a cascade of concrete boxes running down the entire vertical of the building with a curved corner offering residents unparalleled vistas across the city, sunsets over the Pichincha volcano and views of the neighbouring La Carolina Park. In keeping with the greenery of the area, the building’s balconies offer a variety of native trees and plants, which will flourish over the coming years, transforming the facade of the building into a celebration of Quito’s verdant biodiversity.

IQON features a mix of one, two and three-bedroom homes, as well as 9 penthouses, boasting unrivalled views of the Quito skyline and city. “We’ve tried to take all the iconic qualities of Quito – such as the enjoyment of living in one of the most biodiverse places on the planet, in a city on the equator where the seasons are perfect for both human and plant life – and bring that experience into the vertical dimension. IQON is an entire vertical community of individual homes; an extension of La Carolina Park that now climbs all the way up to the rooftop,” says Bjarke Ingels, Founder and Creative Director, BIG-Bjarke Ingels Group. IQON is the first mixed-use building in Quito to have a preliminary EDGE certification, granted by GBCI (Green Business Certification Inc.) and IFC (International Finance Corporation) from World Bank Group.
