Nassim Park Residences, Singapore

Situated in one of Singapore’s most exclusive and prime precincts near Orchard Road, Nassim Park Residence is a highly coveted, luxury residential development. CWD was appointed by the owners of a penthouse suite within the development to create a home away from home for their short visits in Singapore.

The residence was formerly a five-bedroom penthouse but during the interior design process CWD was asked to create four bedrooms, three for the family, one guest room and to convert the fifth bedroom into a relaxing reading/library room where afternoon tea could be enjoyed.

The entry foyer area prior to the renovation featured a solid timber veneer wall which blocked out the sunlight from the balcony. CWD’s design solution was to introduce an open bronze screen with special materials and finishes such as mother of pearl, rock-crystal and capiz to bring natural light into the foyer and living area as well as create a jewel like quality as the centrepiece of the interior architecture. The inspiration for the be-jewelled screen came from Elizabeth Taylor’s jewellery collection.

The owners wanted the main dining and living room to be an entertainment space with multiple areas for guest to sit and talk, so CWD designed the space as a ‘great room’ with pockets of seating for groups where they could converse or where private conversations could be shared. The furniture in the ‘great room’ was all custom designed by CWD and the sea-fern rug in the teal colour-way was a key item to anchor the room. For the dining experience, CWD proposed a purple oval dining table in lacquer finish with a curved bush hammered nickel metal base complemented with a tufted back settee sofa to seat four people. It was very exciting as a Designer to have a client so receptive to using bold colours in their home.

For the master bedroom CWD created a wall with custom wallpaper and headboard that was the expanse of the room to create scale, proportion and drama to the interior and is one of our client’s favourite rooms in the residence.

Another family favourite location is on the outdoor swing located at the pool-side balcony which provides many moments for all the family to enjoy Singapore’s alfresco best on a lazy weekend afternoon.

CWD completed our award winning Nassim Park residences project over an eight month period and handed over the project to a delighted home-owner on time and on budget.
