The house’s identity is shaped by a centuries-old jackfruit tree standing proudly on the property, a symbol of prosperity and timelessness across cultures. From the moment the Uru team first stepped onto the plot, the tree’s legacy inspired them to create a design that mirrored its enduring spirit. The home grew like a living narrative, with every corner resonating with the tree’s tales.

Behind this masterpiece stands Uru Consulting, a firm born out of the camaraderie of four engineering graduates united by their passion for sustainable design. Led by principal consultant and designer Safder Machilakath, alongside Muhammed Siyad MC (Technical Lead), Mohammed Shabeeb P (Operations Lead), and Safwan PM (Finance Lead), the team’s collaborative spirit shaped this home into a beacon of thoughtful architecture.
Raw Elegance: Merging Aesthetics with Sustainability
The house’s interiors reflect a deliberate choice to embrace nature through raw, earthy finishes. Neutral tans, teakwood accents, and cement-textured walls create an understated sophistication, celebrating organic beauty. The result is a seamless blend of modernity and tradition, exuding warmth and tranquility.
Privacy Redefined: A Sanctuary in the Midst of Life
Given the neighboring homes’ proximity, the challenge of maintaining privacy was met with ingenuity. Uru designed a curtain wall adorned with intricate jali patterns, extending into a serene patio. This space not only ensured exclusivity but also became a peaceful retreat for the family—a perfect harmony of openness and seclusion.
Illuminating Spaces: A Play of Light and Volume
Natural light transforms this house into a glowing sanctuary. East-facing windows welcome sunlight, while strategic overhangs on the south prevent excessive heat. The home’s centerpiece, a double-height living and dining area, amplifies the sense of openness. Bridge-like structures on the upper floor create a sense of interconnectedness, fostering warmth and interaction.
