hm-LI Studio introduces three new collections—the Weaving Series, Le Sourire Series, and Curl Series—continuing its signature blend of art, architecture, and nature. Rooted in minimalist aesthetics and Oriental influences, the designs emphasize natural materials, fluidity, and emotional connection.
Project Name: Oriental Aesthetics of Fluidity
Studio Name: hm-LI Studio
Chief Designer: Haoming Li

Weaving Series
A study in rational fluidity, the Weaving Series explores infinite spatial possibilities through dynamic lines and modularity. Inspired by designer Haoming Li’s observation of folding a receipt, the chair’s structure transforms a flat surface into a seamless three-dimensional form. Its precise mortise-and-tenon joints allow for interactive self-assembly, while intricate details reference traditional Chinese doorjamb elements. Available in various formats and materials, the eco-conscious series balances ergonomic comfort with structural elegance. The Weaving Chair has been recognized with the 2024 Red Dot Design Award and the Muse Design Silver Award.

Le Sourire Series
Capturing the fluidity of draped fabric in solid wood, Le Sourire reinterprets traditional craftsmanship with a modern touch. Influenced by Chinese calligraphy, the series reflects dynamic lines and balanced contrasts between strength and softness. The CNC-crafted connection between the backrest and seat remains hidden, creating a visually weightless effect. With options ranging from high-back chairs to stools and bedside tables, the series seamlessly integrates into diverse interiors. It also received the Muse Design Silver Award.

Curl Series
Inspired by nature’s curves, the Curl Series redefines cabinetry with flowing lines and an innovative interplay of grids. The curved doors open gracefully without handles, offering both aesthetic depth and functional flexibility. A fusion of wood and metal achieves a balance of solidity and lightness, while customizable materials like Chinese lacquer and burlwood add unique character. The series’ modular versatility makes it adaptable to various settings, earning it the Muse Design Gold Award.

A Harmony of Modern Aesthetics and Oriental Zen
hm-LI Studio’s latest collections embody structural lightness and breathability, translating the concept of flow into furniture. By refining material thickness and spatial dynamics, the designs achieve both visual elegance and functional excellence, deepening users’ sensory and emotional experience.
