Walter Gropius (1883–1969) was a German-American architect and the founder of the Bauhaus — the school that fused art, craft, and industry and set the course of twentieth-century design. Walter Adolph Gropius was a German architect who, along with Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, and Le Corbusier is regarded as one of the pioneering masters of modernist architecture. He is a founder of Bauhaus in Weimar. Walter Gropius was also a leading architect of the International Style.
