Originally located in the Old Courtyard, which served as the ducal residence of the Wittelsbachs from the 13th to the 15th century, the mill supplied the Wittelsbachs with bread and flour. After it burned down in 1578, the mill was rebuilt in its current location, on the other side of the stream.

Tradition, craftsmanship, authenticity and a passion for handicraft have always been celebrated here. This is also the case in the Pfistermühle restaurant, which was renovated and updated in 2017.

Now the rooms on the floors above have also converted – in the spirit of their origins: 13 suites for the present-day duke and duchess, which invite you to feel at home and leave no room for complaints.

As in the Pfistermühle guest rooms, the wall paneling here is made of whitewashed solid oak. The material recalls the flour-dusted bakery surfaces and is reminiscent of the original origins of traditional bakery craft. The natural materials are local in origin. Oak meets Bavarian shell limestone, an irregularly applied plaster celebrates the beauty of imperfection. Lovingly thought-out details such as coat hooks covered with chamois leather and forged nails, as well as a lampshade made of sturdy linen fabric that is reminiscent of a flour sack, cite Bavarian craftsmanship at the highest level.

The suites are a statement of understated luxury, achieved through the careful selection of materials and simple but effective functionality. They radiate calm and tranquility and offers guests their own private retreat within the bustling city – right in the heart of Munich.
