Promised to the city as a civic square for the people, China World Trade Center Phase 3C Development is Beijing CBD’s civic focal point and function as the heart of the city.
Project Name: China World Trade Centre
Studio Name: Aedas
Location: Beijing, PRC
Site Area: 19,580 sq m
GFA: 57,000 sq m
Client: China World Trade Co., Ltd
The plot remains as the final construction phase within the ‘China World Trade’ master plan, and the missing link that will unify the masterplan’s components.
The project contains less traditional retail and more food and beverage components. Careful programming was selected to improve interconnectivity between plots by introducing typologies that harmonise and diversify the masterplan.
The proposal introduces the concept of “Civic Green” on the roof top, which slopes all the way down to the main entrance area, offering immediate accessibility and high visibility. The idea of a continuous loop is exemplified by the wrap around the structure in an elegant sweeping motion that ties in the basement retail area with the cultural and entertainment sections of the building on higher levels, as well as the current and future subway lines over and under the Third Ring Road.
The project will become a catalyst as a cultural center to bring people together from within and beyond the China World Trade Centre complex.
