Centrally located

The location is ideal for residents who want to move out of their villas and into apartments, but also families with children from the entire greater Oslo region. The school quarter is located less than 500 meters from the Ski central station, which is only a 12-minute train ride from Oslo city centre.

Ski has been identified as a priority growth area in the regional area development and transport plan and will be part of a future common housing and labour market in the greater Oslo region. Ski Municipality’s ambition is to offer the country’s best environment and hopes the new School Quarter can become an exhibition project to get children into the city centre.

LINK Arkitektur has explored more than fifty different planning measures on the site to find the concept that best combines high space utilization with high living quality.

The site

The southwest-facing plot has a fantastic location along the future park. The buildings are located so that as many of the homes as possible have a view and access to the green park. Large, family homes are located as terraced houses with private gardens and separate entrances on the ground floor.

In a back row are apartments above the townhouses, with panoramic views of the park and sun all day. The private and common outdoor area is optimized for late evening sun and good protection from the nearby traffic situation.
