The volume of the school building, preceded by the administration building, tempers the monumentality of the whole and makes it possible to understand their sequence. Significant filters organise the progression from public to private space : public forecourt, sheltered forecourt, tiered patio, playground.

The school’s institutional image is carefully maintained, as evidenced by the long forecourt that highlights the succession of two buildings. The façade, with its softly coloured grid pattern, plays with its surroundings.

The building system has been chosen with sustainability in mind, and is both low-carbon and locally feasible. It also adapts to the particularities of each building situation, using «the right material in the right place»: solid reconstituted wood, timber framing for the structure, compressed earth blocks (CEM) for the courtyard walls, concrete on the ground floor.
