To provide an expressive contrast to the surroundings, the house was designed as a minimalist box structure. Concrete and black painted wooden panels were selected to use on the facade. The design concept is based on simplicity of forms and open plan to maximize the views.

The house is built on a rectangular concrete base. The difference in exterior materials  highlights the functional divisions of the building. The natural finish of the concrete and the vertical black wooden panels is lightened by the colours of the sky which are reflected in the high stained-glass windows. The house stands out in the landscape with its sharp forms contrasting the curvy lines of the hill.

Two-storey Elia house has access to the garden from both floors.  The primary entrance is from the northern side of the house, which is 564.4 meters above sea level. The open  interiors feature bright rooms with a fluid layout. The ground floor combines living room, dining area and kitchen in one space as well as an office and storage. The rooms are all open on the south side to take advantage of the breath-taking views of Tbilisi. The upper floor has two bedrooms and a main suite with other necessary rooms.

The two-level garden overlooks the lower arranged urban environment.. It contains various bushes and trees scattered here and there to accent the space.
