Architectural competitions are held every year to bring out the talents of young architects/designers. The designers will showcase their talents where logical design suggestions are put forward. Participating in these competitions boosts the confidence to present ideas and allows the designer to solve practical problems through architecture. The jury will review all the designs in the competitions from different backgrounds, and this diversity will allow various opinions on the designs. Below are the competitions lined up for 2023 to pick out exemplary designs.
International Architecture and Design Awards 2023
Submission Deadline 16st May 2023
Open designers of all sectors, such as architects, interior, landscape, engineers, construction technicians, communication designers, etc., are expected to showcase their selected works at Architecture and Design Community (ADC). The participants can be of any background, student or group, industry specialists, or professionals. ADC requires the participants to show their distinct and unique concepts and their products’ impact on the community. The project criteria are so broad so it could be a tight competition. Just as in the wide project selection category, the winning nominee is also on a wide range.
Global Future Design Awards 2023
Submission Deadline 10th September 2023
Introduced in 2016, it is one of the most prestigious design awards for architects, interior designers, and product designers. Organised by APR- A leading body of Architecture press globally, GFD 2023 welcomes designers of all backgrounds to be part of this event to fish out extraordinary minds. The design criteria bring up excellent designs incorporating technology, materials, design strategies, and spatial organisation with a clear understanding of digitalisation, adaptability, and flexibility.
Urban Design and Architecture Design Award 2023
Submission Deadline: 13th December 2022
Organized by APR, it is the fifth edition of the Urban Design and Architecture Design Awards (UDAD) to be held in 2023. Being one of the most celebrated design awards, it collaborates with global media appreciating the creative side of the world. Architects and Urban designers can seize their opportunity through UDAD, redefining architecture and urban spaces through various means. Many globally renowned architects and architectural companies like Perkins & Will, AECOM, RMJM, ARUP, DEWAN Architects, etc, participate in this competition. It is an excellent opportunity for young designers to gain exposure and insight into professional designs.
Annual International Architecture Design 2023- Office Design Challenge
Submission Deadline: June 2, 2023.
Organised by Builder (former bee breeders), this competition concept focuses on design challenges in an office environment. The COVID pandemic has changed our way of life and workplaces. Post-COVID designs in offices are targeted to be contactless, clean private spaces with access to the outdoors and providing enough ventilation into the building. Communication is a need in an office for smooth working. It is one of the challenges for designers. Competitors will have to study and understand the office and working environment.
FuturArc Price (FAP) 2023
Submission Deadline: Mid-February 2023.
FAP is Asia’s leading architectural design competition aimed at sustainable designs. Societal and environmental issues often emerge with architecture, and not every question posed has a key. The design brief of FuturArc holds the well-being of nature, the built surrounding, and the effects of the design on the people. The competition requires the designers to come up with sustainable designs without causing a ruckus to the environment in the future.
Wildlife Pavilion 2023
Submission Deadline: March 17, 2023
Terraviva competition is to design a wildlife pavilion located in Italy. The design has to focus on nature. The challenge is to create something that can merge with the natural landscape such that, it can protect the natural surroundings and users can enjoy it.
AI Architecture Competition 2023
Submission Deadline: Jan 09, 2023.
Incorporating Architecture with Artificial Intelligence (AI), this competition is to see the changes acquired with creativity and imagination. AI can improve designs and quality. Competitors have to use AI technology as a medium to create wonders in architecture.
International Architecture Competition – Reuse The Nymphaeum
Submission Deadline: Jan 22, 2023
This is a cultural project with a background of Rome, Italy. Nymphaeum is a renaissance pavilion abandoned and forgotten right after its completion. It was designed by Italian architect Donato Bramante. The competition is to reuse the Nymphaeum pavilion to transform it into a public theme park.
EVolo’s 2023 Skyscraper Competition
Submission Deadline: February 2, 2023
Introduced in 2006, EVolo magazine opens an opportunity for students, architects, engineers, and other designers to design and build high-rise and skyscrapers. The design brief redefines the designs of skyscrapers involving technology and a unique concept.
Design Educates Award 2023
Submission Deadline: February 2, 2023.
The DEAwards showcases designs from all over the world. The projects are expected to be educational and informative. The ideas obtained from the displayed projects can be used in product Design, product design, universal designs, and responsive designs.
