The multi-functional residence hall strengthens the colleges multiple connections to the city of Boston.an active urban street edge is created by providing a transparent facade to the structure. It is one of the prominent structures at the Massachusetts Avenue.
22. EAST BOSTON PUBLIC LIBRARY

A building with a flexible plan and is technology advanced the project focuses on all sections of the community with dedicated spaces for adults,children and teens, in addition to this it has a community reading room with views of the park and the Boston skyline. A “reading porch” runs the length of the building along the park, thus providing an outdoor space for reading,congregating and accessing wireless networks.
23. NEW STUDENT QUARTERS FOR BOSTON UNIVERSITY

An eight floor environment efficient building housing about 164 visiting students, the structure is designed like a large canyon and slots are provided so as to allow the sunlight to penetrate deep into the building and in to each room, an efficient solution to a constraint site. The
rhomboid shape of the building was to maximise efficiency and to deliver a bold architectural facade with ever-changing light and shadow show.
24. MIT CHAPEL

The MIT Chapel is a simple cylindrical structure with a mystical quality within. Architect Eero Saarinen’s unexpected interior design of the chapel overpowered the exterior so as to awaken the spirituality of the visitor. The cylindrical chapel breaks the rigidity of the campus’s orthogonal grid. It is a windowless chapel a shallow concrete moat that surrounds it and seeps into the interior around a series of low arches. Its dynamic interior essential transforms the simple brick building in to a light box that absorbs and filters the light from the skylight. Saarine’s meticulous attention to the detailing regarding the light transformation, changed the whole user experience of religious architecture.
25. MASSACHUSETTS COLLEGE OF ART AND DESIGN’S STUDENT RESIDENCE HALL

Typology- Student Residence (Dorms)
A college housing tower that accommodates up to 493 students, the design of the residence hall exemplifies some innovative designs. The 21-story tower building facade draws its inspiration from Klimpt’s famous 1909 painting by featuring around 5500 boldly colored metal panels in five custom colors arranged at five different widths and depths.
The structure aces i sustainability with its windows on the north side to provide light favourable to the artist’s work. It is certified Silver LEED building.
