Oorjaa, one of India’s pioneering handcrafted paper studios known for its distinctive sustainable lighting and installations, has announced Shades of Green – a dynamic platform for regenerative design, circularity and critical dialogue.
Project Name: ‘Shades of Green’ – A Celebration of Conscious Creativity
Studio Name: Oorjaa

In an age of climate urgency, Shades of Green invites designers, students, educators, and the wider public to reimagine what it means to create responsibly and thoughtfully.

Building on Oorjaa’s deep-rooted philosophy of eco-conscious design, Shades of Green fosters conversation, learning and creative collaboration centered on the most vital questions facing the design community today. It emphasizes the need to move beyond traditional notions of sustainability and embrace regenerative, circular models grounded in material intelligence and ecological sensitivity. It provocatively asks: If design has contributed to the “take-make-use-discard” culture, can it now be part of the solution?

This year’s edition, Songs of Nature unfolds from August 8th to 13th at Sabha, Bengaluru, through six immersive days of exhibitions, workshops, discussions and guided walkthroughs.

Highlights include:
- A new lighting collection by Oorjaa, inspired by the quiet wisdom of the natural world.
- Hands-on workshops in paper and lamp-making and on material literacy.
- Thought-provoking talks and panels with leading voices in sustainable and regenerative design.
- Guided tours with Oorjaa Founder Jenny Pinto and Co-Founders Radeesh Shetty and Gaurav Rai.

Participate in the hands-on workshops, absorb new ideas in design thinking, or simply take in Oorjaa’s elegant installations at Shades of Green. The events spread across six days will leave you inspired, questioning and connected to a more mindful way of creating.
