This large modern villa above Lago maggiore in Northern Italy features a natural garden sprawling over a steep rocky hill with views of the Alps.
Project Name: Lago Maggiore Garden
Studio Name: Mylandscapes LTD

We designed the landscape masterplan over a few years as the house was built, culminating in soft landscaping which introduced 20,000 plants over 2 weeks of planting.

A naturally filtered infinity swimming pool in the main patio leads into a winding path, zig-zagging through scores of wildlife-friendly floras.
Towering above the entrance steps, a Crape Myrtle tree demarcates the house, along culinary herbs in a sloping raised bed.

A trio of further Crape Myrtles lines the path to the parking, with a stately multi-stemmed Rhus anchoring the seating area by the front door.
A scented Osmanthus frames the lake view, forming part of a series of raised beds which enable planting across the entrance expanse which is a roof garden above the subterranean parking space.

Key planting includes Cornus, Deutzia, Viburnum, Davidia, Maples, Magnolia, grasses, herbs, Jasmine, fruit trees, Lavatera, Ginkgo, Hazels, Hamamelis, Rhus & Lagerstroemia.
