The Texas Tech University College of Architecture program trains close to 900 future architects in Lubbock every year, ready to be unleashed into the Texan landscapes. Lubbock, located in the northwestern part of the state, is the economic, educational, and healthcare hub of Texas, often known as the ‘Hub City‘.

Due to its advantageous location and strategic transportation facilities, the city is a trade territory with a favourable business atmosphere: low rent for commercial space, central location, and cooperative city government. Lubbock is, further, characterized by the Texas Technological Centre and the Depot District – an area dedicated to music and nightlife in the old railroad depot area of the city. Several buildings in the district were remodelled from the original Fort Worth & Denver South Plains Railway Depot that stood on the site. The Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts and Sciences, promoting the legacy of Buddy Holly, is also located in the Depot District. The state-of-the-art performance venue is designed by Diamond Schmitt in association with Lubbock architects Parkhill and MWM Architects.

Re-thinking The Future is a global platform for architecture and design. RTF along with our authors has curated a list of top architecture firms in various cities across the globe. Please note that the names are arranged in alphabetical order and are not ranked in any manner.
