The extension consists of 9 teaching rooms, which are designed as individual “cubes”. The cubes are connected via intermediate areas used for living and study areas, located around an atrium. Above is placed a triangular skylight. A luminous staircase runs like a spiral down through the room.

The learning environments are designed to work supportively and inspiring for the teaching and students.

Access to the science building can be done on two levels: When the banquet hall (in the old building stock) is available, access will be possible via the banquet hall on the ground floor.

When the banquet hall is not accessible, access is from the parterre level from the original building.

Both accesses are made to a wide staircase, which is also thought of as a “seating furniture”.

The conversion works have been carried out in such a way that, with due regard for the building’s architects and construction, a modern and attractive framework has been created for students, teachers and administration.
