The Gillingham Strauss Residence, designed by architect Toby Witte of Charlotte-based firm Wittehaus, is an artful, modern home located on a highly visible corner lot in the city.

The clients requested a design that incorporated plenty of glass and provided privacy, which was achieved by hoisting the living and bedroom spaces to the second floor onto stilts.
This solution not only offers privacy to the homeowners, but also allows for stunning views of the downtown skyline. The residence also features a visually striking floating, cable-rail stairway that guides the homeowners from the street-level entry to their living spaces.
