The house was built in the 80’s and the kitchen was original, but it no longer filled the family’s expectation. The two sisters met us through social media and got in touch with the intention to rebuild the kitchen.

The whole process was developed online, due to the 800 kilometers distance between the kitchen location and our office.

The sisters asked for free bench spaces and cabinets for the kitchen utensils and groceries. They also needed a space for fast meals with natural lighting and ventilation. Despite the small space, we attemped to check all this expectations and needs with the new composition of the kitchen.

Our biggest challenge was to harmonize the divergents designs preferences of each client: retro versus contemporary, colorful versus clean. To achieve that, we chose the green subway tiles to represent the retro colorful personality amidst of the predominance of neutral colors. This was the mix that made the transformation of this kitchen possible!
